Susanne Lichten Csongor, Founder

Susanne Lichten Csongor, founder of SLC Interiors, Inc. has over twenty years of extensive experience in high end residential design with offices in Hamilton and Cotuit Massachusetts. The firm’s residential practice includes a private family compound in Nantucket featuring a spa, tennis and an equestrian facility, residences at The Setai Hotel overlooking Miami Beach and a Pied a Terre overlooking Boston’s Public Garden.

Susanne holds a Master of Science Degree in Interior Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts. During her studies, Susanne was a Teacher Assistant to Dr. Arnold Friedman founder of the program and former director of Pratt Institutes Interior Design Program. Studies abroad include Decorative Art and Architecture in Paris with Parsons School of Art and Design. Susanne has also taught Color Theory and Interior Design through the Adjunct Program at New England School of Art and Design.

Susanne has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Central and South America and has family in Hungary. She and her twin daughters are accomplished equestrians and love to Fox Hunt together with the Myopia Hunt Club. She and her husband are busy with their girls, three dogs, one cat and five horses.

 
Diane Murphy, Principal-Senior Interior Designer

Diane Murphy, Principal-Senior Interior Designer

Diane began her design career at SLC Interiors in 1997. Over the years Diane has learned all aspects of the industry from facilitating orders and coordinating installations to project management. A Principal since 2008, Diane’s strong interpersonal skills and experience have created long lasting relationships with clients, builders and architects.

Diane weaves her passion for design, architecture and art through every project she manages. Whether it’s an intimate beach front cottage or a stately Georgian manor, she is equally at ease helping her clients realize their visions.

In her off time Diane loves to travel, gathering ideas and treasures along the way. At home, she enjoys working in her garden and spending time with her dog, Sammy.

Diane holds a B.A. in Communications from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is an Interior Design graduate of the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University.

 
Karin Howe, Principal-Senior Interior Designer

Karin Howe, Principal-Senior Interior Designer

Karin Howe joined SLC Interiors, Inc. in 1999 where she started her career as a Design Intern and quickly moved up throughout the years from Design Assistant, Project Manager then obtained the position as one of the Prinicpal’s of SLC Interiors, Inc. in 2008. As a Principal, Karin works closely with clients, architects and builders to ensure turn key completion of all projects. Significant projects include a 30,000 sqaure foot single residence in Weston Massachusetts, A 5,000 square foot Apartment in New York City and many vacation homes in Cape Cod. With over eleven years of experience, Karin uses her visual and creative skills to create aesthetically pleasing interiors for all clients.

Karin received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999 from New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University.

In her free time Karin spends weekends in New Hampshire by the beach with friends and family.

 
Emily Pinney, Interior Designer

Emily Pinney, Interior Designer

Emily Pinney has been with SLC Interiors since 2007. As a Project Manager, Emily works directly with clients and contractors to facilitate the operation of all aspects of client installations.

Emily was enrolled for a year at the Boston Architectural College (BAC) in the Architecture Program before discovering her love for textiles and color and soon switched to the Interior Design Degree Program. To expand her studies outside of Boston Emily studied abroad in Florence Italy in 2004. While abroad she took classes in Furniture and Lighting Design at the University of Lorenzo de Medici. Emily graduated in 2007 from the BAC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design.

In her free time Emily can be found out on her bike training her next Triathlon.

 
Laurie Kaufman, Office Manager

Laurie Kaufman, Office Manager

Laurie Kaufman joined SLC Interiors, Inc in the summer of 2005 as the office manager. She has over 25 years experience managing high end residential design firms. Her experience has helped in developing office policies, procedures, and fully integrated financial systems. She works closely with the design team to ensure all projects run smoothly. She is also responsible for all financial aspects of the company.

Laurie holds a B.S. in Accounting and an A.S. in Management from Bentley University.

In her spare time she enjoys sewing, scrapbooking and cheering her children on at their various sporting

 
Michelle O’Connor, Administrative Assistant

Michelle O’Connor, Administrative Assistant

Michelle O'Connor joined SLC Interiors Inc, in September 2004 as the firm's Librarian after leaving her role as a Human Resources Representative at community hospital to spend more time with her growing family. Michelle quickly adjusted to the creative and fast paced design world. She rose through the ranks and is currently an Administrative Assistant. She also works closely with the designers on their individual projects.

Michelle holds a B.A. in Marketing from University of Massachusetts. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spinning, and photography and keeping up with the demands of her three children.
